The Scouts Model Maker badge is designed to encourage creativity, precision, and attention to detail. Scouts can earn this badge by engaging in various model-making activities, such as building models from kits, designing construction sets, or crafting model planes, boats, and cars. The badge aims to inspire a love for building and creating, skills that are valuable in both personal and professional life.

Through the badges current sponsor, Games Workshop we are able to apply for kits that the Scouts can use towards their badge. They can also take part in sessions at Warhammer stores where they can learn how to paint these models and play the game.

Through this partnership scouts can participate in:

  1. Model Building: Scouts will get hands-on experience assembling Warhammer miniatures.
  2. Painting: Learn the techniques to bring Warhammer figures to life with vibrant colours and intricate details.
  3. Exploring Warhammer Lore: Dive into the fantastical settings of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

The evenings we ran this over has allowed the Scouts to learn:

  • Skill Development: From fine motor skills involved in model making to creativity in painting, Scouts will develop valuable skills that can be applied in many areas of life.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Participating in group sessions fosters teamwork and helps Scouts build strong relationships with their peers.
  • Imagination and Creativity: Warhammer models and stories encourage Scouts to think creatively and explore their imaginations.

The Scouts really enjoyed making these models and had some great imagination on the colour schemes.
